From The Editor's Desk

Dear Colleague,

Greetings to all our readers. I take this opportunity to thank all the members of APCRI for giving me this great and very difficult task of bringing out the “APCRI Journal” regularly.

It gives me great pleasure to place before you the Volume VII (issues 1 & 2, July 2004 – June 2005) of the APCRI Journal in about two months time after taking charge. This volume of the journal was supposed to be published during the “APCRICON 2005” at Shimla. I could gather the fact that it could not be done because very few articles were submitted to the erstwhile editor.

I thank all the contributors of various articles and papers for submitting them in a very short interval of time. The articles or papers said to have been submitted to the previous editor could not be retrieved in spite of our best efforts. I will be very happy if those articles or papers are again submitted to me for publication in future issues if possible.

The “APCRI Journal” invites contributions from the scientific community on Rabies and related topics and issues in the form of Original Articles, Review Articles, Brief Reports, Case Reports, Letters to the Editor, Personal Viewpoint, Notes & News, and Questions (to be answered by the editorial board). Manuscript guidelines (Information For Authors) are being published in this volume of the “APCRI Journal”. The above mentioned contributions should be sent to the Editor’s office at the E-Mail address: amlan_kolkata29@ rediffmail.com. Submission of articles is an ongoing process with no deadlines.

We intend to revive the “APCRI News Letter” soon. Members and the scientific community are requested to visit the APCRI web site at www.apcri.org for getting information about Rabies and Association related activities. Members are also requested to check their address in the “list of the members”. The journal and the news letter will be mailed to the address recorded there. Any change in the address, phone numbers, E-Mail ID etc or any other additional information can be sent to the association headquarters at Bangalore.

I wish to thank the Pharmaceutical Companies Sanofi Pasteur & Ranbaxy Pharma for their valuable help and contributions without which this venture would not have been successful. Last but not the least, I thank our Association President Dr. B. J. Mahendra and the Secretary General Dr. G Sampath for all sorts of help in bringing out this issue of the journal.

Let us all commit ourselves for the elimination of human rabies from India .
