From The Editor's Desk
Dear Colleague,
Greetings to all our readers. I am very happy to place before you the “APCRI Journal, Volume VIII, issue 1”. This time we have been able to bring out the journal, on schedule, at the time of the APCRICON 2006.
I have to thank all the contributors for their articles. Without an abundant supply of articles, no editor can bring out a journal. I take this opportunity to once again request the scientific community for articles on Rabies and related topics for publication in the “APCRI Journal”, in future. I think, I have not let down anyone and not published any contribution in one form or other.
The “APCRI Journal” is in the process of getting an ISSN number. Contact has been established with INSDOC for the same. Soon the “APCRI Journal” will be indexed.
We intend to publish the “APCRI Journal” two times a year from this year onwards. Once, in July, during the APCRICON, and once again in January. The “APCRI Newsletter” is planned for release in September and March. Contributions are very much solicited for both the publications. Both the publications will be available in our website www.apcri.org.
The journal and the newsletter will be mailed through the Indian Postal department to the address of the member provided by the treasurer before mailing. I also request all members to visit our website www.apcri.org and check for themselves the address recorded there. Any change in the address, telephone numbers, or the E-Mail IDs, or any other information should be conveyed in writing to the association headquarters at Bangalore.
I wish to thank the Pharmaceutical Companies “Ranbaxy Pharma”, “Sanofi Pasteur”, “Novartis Vaccines” and “Bharat Serums and Vaccines Ltd”, for their valuable help and contributions without which this venture would not have been successful. Last but not the least, I thank our association President Dr. B. J. Mahendra, Secretary General Dr. G. Sampath, Treasurer Dr. D. H. Ashwatnarayana and the webmaster Dr.K. N. Kishore kumar for help in bringing out the print and the web versions of this issue of the journal.
Let us all commit ourselves for the elimination of human rabies from India.
Kolkata
